ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO)– Orangeburg Department of Public Safety officers are investigating an armed robbery that happened last Friday, said ODPS.

ODPS said officers responded to a robbery on Chestnut Street on Friday, Feb. 21, around 11:15 p.m. 

The victim was with a female acquaintance who opened the door and let an armed male who stole $6,300 and the victim’s cell phone into the room, according to officials.

Officers later found the person’s vehicle, which fled but was stopped in Dorchester County. Multiple agencies assisted ODPS with the arrest of the person.

No injuries or damages were reported during the incident. Officers found 97 grams of cocaine and 2 weapons in the vehicle.
