30-year-old charged with attempted murder after early morning argument escalates, deputies say

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A 30-year-old man has been arrested after an early morning argument escalated to attempted murder, say deputies.

Sumter County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded around 3:16 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, to the report of a civil disturbance.

When deputies arrived to the Dink Street home, a victim was found lying face down on the ground outside the home.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived shortly after Sumter County deputies and began to render aid to the victim.

During the investigation, deputies learned an argument between Dillon Osborne and the victim resulted in Osborne allegedly striking the victim intentionally with his vehicle.

According to deputies, the victim received non-life-threatening injuries and was flown by helicopter to a Columbia hospital for treatment.

Osborne was charged with attempted murder and taken to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center where he awaits his bond hearing.
