Lexington PD announces road closures ahead of 10th annual Shamrock Parade
Lexington Co., SC (WOLO) — The Lexington Police Department wants to remind anyone travelling through the downtown area of the county this weekend that the 10th annual Shamrock Parade will cause several road closures Sunday March 9, 2025.
According to Police, road closures, and detours are set to begin at 1:30 p.m. along West Butler Street, from Columbia Avenue to North Church Street along Haygood Street as well as a portion of Meetze Street will be closed to traffic to allow the the Shamrock Parade to set u their floats. Authorities ask those participating in the parade to arrive early.
The parade route will be along Haygood Street going down to West Main Street/US 1 to North Lake Drive and will close to traffic beginning at 2:45 p.m. until the parade comes to an end. Police say this will allow them to start setting up for the beginning of the Shamrock Parade which is set to begin at 3 p.m. West Main street is scheduled to be reopened around 4:30 p.m. while
Detour routes will be accompanied with signs and officers who will direct traffic around the parade route. West Main Street is expected to be completely reopened by approximately 4:30 p.m.
