Small business uncertainty is high

(CNN)– Concerns about the economy are weighing heavily on America’s small businesses.

The “National Federation of Independent Business’ Uncertainty Index” climbed last month to its second-highest level since 1973.

The group released its latest survey on Tuesday, March 11.

In February, the survey found the share of respondents who believe it is a good time to expand, saw its biggest monthly decline since April 2020 during COVID.

This comes as the Trump Administration’s trade policy has sparked fears about inflation and a recession.
