Lawsuit filed against Dept. of Mental Health reveals details in two 2023 murders

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A lawsuit filed against the Department of Mental Health and a local home care facility is revealing gruesome details in two 2023 murders.

The lawsuit, filed on behalf of one of the victim’s grandparents alleges that accused murderer, Marc-Anthony Cantrell admitted to cutting off and eating the ears and drinking the blood of his victims at New Hope Home Solutions.

The lawsuit accuses the defendants of willful, wanton, reckless and grossly negligent conduct that resulted in the death of the plaintiff’s family member.

A spokesperson for the Department of Mental Health says they will not comment on pending litigation.

ABC Columbia also reached out to an attorney representing New Hope, but have not yet received a response.
