Wofford set to play No. 2 Seed Tennessee on Thursday

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford men’s basketball team earned the No. 15 seed in the Midwest Region of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. The Terriers will travel to Lexington, Kentucky, to take on No. 2 seed Tennessee in the first round on Thursday, March 20, at 6:50 p.m.

The Terriers, who earned their first bid to the NCAA Tournament since the 2019 season, will match up with the Volunteers for the ninth time in program history. The teams matched up last in 2023, but it is the first time the two will face off in the NCAA Tournament.

Tennessee went 27-7 this season with a 12-6 record in the SEC. The Volunteers fell to the Florida Gators in the SEC Championship earlier today, 86-77. Tennessee is 8-0 all time against Wofford, with the latest victory coming in an 82-61 bout last season.

Wofford capped off its season with three wins in three days to win the Southern Conference Tournament in Asheville, North Carolina last weekend. The Terriers defeated No. 5 Furman 92-85 in the championship game, giving the team a 19-15 record overall.
