Richland School District One unveils new flight simulator

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Students in Richland School District One are reaching for the sky virtually.

The district unveiled a new flight simulator at the district’s Challenger Center.

Officials say the immersive training device from true course simulations allows students to receive life-like flight training using virtual reality.

It is the closest thing to flying without leaving the ground.

Students will begin using the simulator next year.
