Midlands Gamecock fan scores $200,000 win on school’s scratch-off

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A lucky Midlands Gamecock fan has scored a $200,000 win on the school’s scratch-off, and he thanks his wife for the win, said SC lottery officials.

The winner’s wife asked him to buy her a lottery ticket while filling up their car at the Murphy Express on Ricky Lane in Columbia.

“I got her a ticket. then I asked if they had the Carolina card,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.

The couple plan to save the prize money.

The odds of winning $200,000 in the Carolina Jackpot game are 1 in 520,000.
