Lexington County Co. identifies person who died in two-vehicle collision

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday, said the coroner’s office.

The collision happened on Tuesday, April 1, in the 5000 block of Sunset Blvd in the Lexington area.

According to Coroner Fisher, Margie Hayden Cook, 70, of Pelion was pulling out of a parking lot when she was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound on Sunset Blvd.

Cook who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.

Police with the Lexington Police Department, and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate the incident.
