The South Carolina Forestry Commission announced the State Forester’s Burning Ban will be lifted for Greenville, Horry, Oconee, Pickens and Spartanburg counties at noon on Wednesday.

The statewide burning ban was lifted for the other 41 counties in South Carolina on Monday.

The ban is being lifted due to weather conditions of low relative humidity and gusty winds subsiding.

Progress on the containment of the two wildfires in the Tabe Rock Complex has allowed for resources to return to their home units, according to the release.

The Table Rock Complex and the Covington Drive Fire are still being monitored using local resources.

The burn ban being lifted in all South Carolina counties allows citizens to conduct safe and responsible outdoor burning if all proper safety precautions are taken.

When burning outdoors, officials still urge caution and vigilance, as fire danger and activity is expected through April.

Anyone who burns things outdoors and allows their fire to escape will be held accountable, according to the release. Citizens must still notify the forestry commission before any outdoor burning of yard debris or prescribed burns.

Horry County Fire Rescue officials announced that while the outdoor burning ban is lifted for all unincorporated areas, all regulations are still set in place in the Horry County ordinance regarding open burning.
