Pedestrian on bicycle killed in Orangeburg County hit-and-run; two vehicles involved

A hit-and-run in Orangeburg County left one pedestrian dead Thursday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The collision reportedly occurred at 3:35 a.m. on US 321 at River Rest Road.

A report on the incident from the South Carolina Highway Patrol states that the pedestrian was riding a bicycle southbound in the roadway when they were struck by two vehicles.

Both vehicles fled the scene and the make and models on the involved vehicles are currently unknown at this time.

The pedestrian succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Orangeburg County Coroner Sean Fogle identified the victim as 46-year-old Casey Carr from Neeses.
