Orangeburg Co. coroner identifies person fatally wounded on Thursday

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Orangeburg County Coroner Sean Fogle has identified the person fatally wounded on Thursday, April 3, at DCC Metal Recycling in Holly Hill.

According to County Coroner Fogle, Juan Carlos Lopez, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say Lopez was working on piece of equipment when part of the equipment collapsed on him, causing blunt force injury to the chest.

“We’re working in tandem with OSHA to continue investigating Mr. Lopez’s death,” Fogle says.
