Congaree National Park prescribed burn next week

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– You may see smoke in the air across the Midlands next week.

Officials at Congaree National Park announced today they will conduct a prescribed burn on Monday through Wednesday.

A park spokesperson says they plan on burning away underbrush on more than 900 acres, that would serve as fuel in the event of a wildfire.
