Richland County deputies arrest man on attempted murder charge

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County Sheriff’s Department deputies have arrested a suspect for attempted murder.

On Wednesday, April 9, around 4 in the afternoon, deputies responded in the 6800 block of Bluff Road for reports of a shooting.

When deputies arrived, they found a victim with gunshot wounds to the lower body.

Investigators say the victim had an altercation with 19-year-old Darren Archie Jr., the boyfriend of the victim’s daughter regarding the victim’s vehicle.

That victim was taken to a local hospital.

Archie was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
