Tesla halts orders for cars in China

(CNN)– The trade war between the U.S. and China appears to have a taken hold of someone close to president trump… Elon Musk.

Tesla has stopped taking orders for its Model S and Model X vehicles on its Chinese web site.

But the Model 3 and Model Y are still listed.

A key difference is those vehicles are made at Tesla’s gigafactory in Shanghai.

They are much more popular in China which is the world’s largest car market.

The S and X are mostly produced in the U.S., and have always been niche vehicles in the Chinese market.
