FDA issues warning about fake Ozempic in supply chain

(CNN)– The Federal Drug Administration (FDA) is warning of fake Ozempic, saying it could pose a safety risk.

The FDA and Ozempic drugmaker Novo Nordisk have found counterfeit vials of the weightless drug being sold to consumers.

The labels on the counterfeit products have a real lot number PAR0362.

But they also have a fake serial number.

The fake serial number begins with the first 8 digits (51746517).

If the real lot number is coupled with the fake serial number, the product is counterfeit and should not be used.

To be sure you’re getting the real thing, you should only buy Ozempic injections from authorized distributors of Novo Nordisk.
