Roadways on 20 westbound reopen after overturned trailer

IRMO, S.C. (WOLO)– Irmo Fire District crews are on the scene of an overturned trailer on the highway, said fire officials.

Fire officials said a trailer overturned on the transition ramp from westbound 26 to westbound 20.

A large forklift that used to be on the trailer, the trailer and a large amount of hydraulic oil need to be removed from the roadway, officials said.

The wreck did not involve any other vehicles and there were no injuries.

There is a large hole in the pavement that the fire district believes could grow into a big pothole.

SCDOT is going to repair the pavement today, while the fire district said will take a while.

The ramp will be closed for hours, along with one lane of 20 westbound.

Drivers should expect delays and plan for alternate routes if you can.
