Man reported missing in Orangeburg County found dead in Clarendon County

CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Deputies with the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office say a man who was reported as missing body has been found.

CCSO say deputies responded to a dirt road in the Home Branch Community of Clarendon County about a call received by dispatch shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 14.

The call came from a person walking down the dirt road who saw what they thought to be a body in the woods off the roadway.

When deputies arrived to the scene, they confirmed that it was a body.

During the investigation, it was determined that the body was that of 25-year-old Tyrese Najae Lawson of the Summerton area of Clarendon County.

A missing person’s report was originally filed on Lawson by the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office as investigators say he was last seen in the Santee area of Orangeburg
County on April 10.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine his cause of death.

Lawson’s vehicle, a 2010 Black Nissan Altima, bearing SC Tag number WPP-671 has not been found.

The case is an ongoing investigation with the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office, Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office, and SLED.
