Residents of 12 apartments left displaced after 2-alarm fire at apartment complex

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Firefighters with the Columbia-Richland Fire Department worked together to extinguish an apartment complex fire on Wednesday afternoon, said officials.

Third shift crews controlled a 2-alarm fire that raged through a building at Providence Park apartments on April 16, around 12:50 p.m.

Fire crews arrived to the scene to find heavy fire spreading through one side of the building which prompted officers at the scene to call for a 2nd Alarm.

CRFD said multiple aerials were used to knock the fire down and it was ultimately brought under control.

No injuries were reported but residents of 12 apartments have been left displaced.

The Richland County Fire Marshal’s Office is looking into what caused the fire.
