OCSO: 1 arrested in connection with Claflin University student’s death

 

 

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell held a press conference at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday to give an update on the death of a 20-year-old Claflin University student.

The student was identified as 20-year-old O’Brian Grant, of Resort St. Santee by Orangeburg County Coroner Sean Fogle.

During the Tuesday afternoon, April 22, press conference Sheriff Ravenell confirmed one person who was identified as Nathaniel Grant was arrested in connection with Grant’s murder.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says O’Brian Grant was found shot and killed on the side of legendary drive at 10:30 on Saturday morning (April 19).

Deputies say the two men are not related, and that Nathaniel Grant is no stranger to law enforcement.

Also, investigators say there could possibly be additional arrests in connection with Grant’s death.

Nathaniel Grant will be charged with murder, grand larceny, and possession of weapon during a violence crime.
