(WCIV) — A trial date has been set in a lawsuit involving the death of Mallory Beach, the woman who was killed in a 2019 boating accident allegedly caused by Alex Murdaugh’s son Paul Murdaugh.
Unlike the ongoing Murdaugh saga, this lawsuit is based on accusations that the founder of Parker’s Kitchen, Greg Parker, hired people to harass the Beach family online.
Paul Murdaugh had allegedly been drinking when he crashed the boat into a Beaufort County Bridge, throwing Mallory Beach overboard where she then died.
Security footage shows Paul Murdaugh buying alcohol with his older brother’s ID from Parker’s only hours before the deadly crash.
The Beach family received a $15 million dollar settlement from Parkers and its founder Greg Parker in 2023.
However, the Beach family claims that Parker hired individuals to create fake social media posts to harass and harm then during the wrongful death case.
The family also received a $500,000 settlement from Murdaugh’s insurance provider last fall.
A jury trial regarding the accusations had been set for the week of May 4 2026.
