RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) says part of Community Road in Richland County will be closed for construction on the new I-77 Exit 26 Interchange Project.

The closure will take place beginning Monday, May 5, and is expected to last until April 2026.

SCDOT says the closure will allow crews to construct new roadways, bridges, and retaining wall.

As part of the closure, a detour will be set up.

Digital message boards will be placed in the area and will direct drivers on how to navigate around the closure.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to crews and signs when driving near work zones.
