Tariffs raise the cost of strollers
(CNN)– President Trump’s tariffs are now affecting baby gear.
Trump has slapped 145% tariffs on imports from China, and a 10% minimum tax on all other countries.
Retailers and trade policy experts say the vast majority of children’s and baby gear products are manufactured exclusively in China.
They also say those products cannot be produced in other countries, including the U.S. anytime soon.
As a result, the prices for the leading brands of strollers have already gone up by hundreds of dollars.
