U.S. House passes ‘Take it Down’ act

(CNN) — The U.S. House passed a new bill on Monday to protect Americans from deep fake and revenge pornography.

The “Take it Down” act adds protections for victims of non-consensual sharing of sexual images.
The legislation will criminalize the publication of those images.

It will also require social media and similar websites to have procedures in place to remove the content after notification from a victim.
The bill now heads to President Trump’s desk for his signature. President Trump is expected to sign it into law.
