Father of murdered woman speaks out for first time

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — The father of a murdered 22 year old woman is speaking out for the first time.

Stevie Federico spoke with us briefly about the devastating loss of his daughter,  Logan Federico  who Columbia Police say was shot and killed while on a weekend trip from North Carolina, to a Cypress Street home in Columbia, visiting friends.

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook says her body was found with a gunshot wound to the chest after they entered the Cypress Street home.

This man, 30-year-old Alexander Dickey police say, tried to set the house on fire while trying to escape authorities.

Federico speaking for his daughter with an emotional message directed to the man who is in jail tonight accused of killing his daughter. Federico saying in part, ” You can kill my body but you will never be able to kill my spirit.”

He went on to say that he is surrounded by an amazing group of family and friends that are now altogether on a thread started initially for them to check on him following the horrific news. Now that group  calling themselves “Logan’s Team”is vowing to never forget Logan either.

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook says Dickey faces various charges including Murder, Arson, Burglary, and Grand Larceny. His bond has been denied .
