FTC to ban some hidden fees

(CNN)– Get ready to say goodbye to convenience fees.

You may remember a few months ago when the Federal Trade Commission announced it’s cracking down on deceptive fees.

That takes effect next Monday, May 12, and the agency released a FAQ outlining how it’s going to work.

Live event ticketing and short-term lodging sites will have to list their total prices more prominently than any other price.

That means no more clicking through vacation home listings to find out how much the cleaning fee will be.
