A South Carolina Gamecock has secured the final spot in the upcoming ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic.

Nathan Franks, a senior on the South Carolina men’s golf team, secured this spot with his one-shot victory in The Q at Myrtle Beach, which is a competition featuring eight aspiring professional golfers and eight golf content creators.

To play in a PGA Tour event in my home state is a dream come true,” said Franks. “The Q was a truly unique event with cameras following our every move and playing against guys with millions of followers on social media. It was a little surreal, but I was able to maintain focus and get across the finish line.

He won over players Joe Hooks and Tyler Watts, with the victory coming close.

Once again, The Q came down to the final hole with an exciting finish,” said Kyle Oland, Director of Marketing, Golf Tourism Solutions. “As viewers will see on the broadcast, this was not an exhibition. These players were truly grinding to gain a spot in the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic. There’s no other competition out there like this.

The Q was played on March 3 at TPC Myrtle Beach and was posted to YouTube on Monday.

Following this event, Franks will join his Gamecocks teammates at the NCAA regional at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington.
