Midlands Gives raises more than $3.7 million during day of giving
Columbia, SC (WOLO) — Midlands Gives has officially wrapped up another successful day of giving!
The Central Carolina Community foundation kicked off the 18-hour giving challenge at 6 a-m Tuesday with a mid-day block party at Segra Park! Dozens of nonprofits and community members took part in the celebration that provided food, games, music, and prizes.
The event has been going on since 2014, and in that time organizers say they have been able to make a huge impact for area non profits raising more than $19 million dollars. Not counting the total tally that will be released by officials at a later date.
At last check, (Wednesday 3AM) the Midlands Gives website shows the foundation raised a approximate total of more than $3.7 million dollars going to 580 non profits through over 16-thousand donations. While donations for Midlands Gives ended at midnight, the site says they will reopen the site May 12, 2025 for additional donations.
