CPD: Man found shot, killed in motel parking lot

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police say they responded to the Carolina Lodge on N. Main St. at 6:35 Friday morning to a report of shots fired.

Investigators say when they arrived they found a man dead at the scene with gunshot wounds.

Police say they believe the shooting was the result of an altercation but they do not have a description of the suspect at this time.

Deputy Chief Melron Kelly says police are reviewing security footage and will release additional information as soon as it becomes available.
