CRFD firefighters control Summit Parkway house fire

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Firefighters with the Columbia-Richland Fire Department have controlled a fire that happened off of Summit Parkway on Wednesday afternoon, said CRFD.

Third shift crews responded to a home Long Ridge Drive minutes before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7.

When firefighters arrived to the scene they found heavy fire coming from a back rear bedroom of the home with flames working through sections of the roof.

Crews established a water supply and quickly brought the situation under control, according to CRFD.

Properties on both sides of the home also suffered damages due to the heat.

The badly damaged home had been vacant for some time following a previous fire, and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Richland County Fire Marshal’s Office.
