45 million expected to travel for Memorial Day, AAA say

(CNN)– Planes, trains, and automobiles all will be used as transportation for the Memorial Day holiday period which is right around the corner.

AAA estimates more than 45-million people will travel at least 50 miles from home between May 22 to May 26.

That would set a new Memorial Day travel weekend record.

The previous mark was set two decades ago in 2005 when 44-million people took a trip.

The majority of travelers later this month will make their trip by car.
