Man arrested after domestic violence incident at apartment complex, deputies say
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies say a man has been arrested in relation to a domestic violence incident on Sunday.
Deputies say they responded to apartments at 250 Springtree Drive (Springtree Apartments) after multiple callers told 911 a female victim was being assaulted and screaming for help just after 2 a.m. on May 11.
When deputies arrived to the scene, they located the apartment they believed the incident took place at.
At the apartment Milan Foulks refused to go to the door for several minutes before surrendering to law enforcement, says Richland County Sheriff’s Dept.
The victim was located with multiple injuries that EMS treated at the scene.
RCSD says the victim was alert and conscience at the scene.
Further investigation revealed that Foulks and the victim arrived at the apartment complex in a vehicle together; when the victim requested Foulks take her home, Foulks refused.
Then Foulks began to assault the victim and drag her to his apartment against her will, according to RCSD.
Investigators say once inside, Foulks continued to assault the victim.
Foulks was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, criminal sexual conduct 1st degree, and kidnapping.
He was denied bond.
