Calhoun Co. coroner identifies person who died after morning highway collision

CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Calhoun County Coroner has identified the person who died after a morning highway collision, said the coroner’s office.

Calhoun County Coroner Donnie Porth identified the victim as 26-year-old Mariah Smith-Ramos from Darlington, South Carolina.

The collision happened around 3 a.m. on I-26 East Bound, near mile-marker 123.

No one else was injured in the wreck, according to the coroner’s office.

SC Highway Patrol Troopers said Smith-Ramos was driving near mile marker 122 after 3 a.m. when she hit a mack truck from behind.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
