UPDATE: RCSD arrest 3 more people in connection with Columbia Mall shooting

 

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County Sheriff Lott has announced the arrest of more people in relation to a Columbia Mall shooting, said RCSD.

Sheriff Lott also announced that people are wanted in connection with the shooting.

On Friday, May 9, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department’s Fugitive Task Force and Special Response Team arrested a 16-year-old on charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and assault and battery of high and aggravated nature.

During the investigation, deputies determined that the 16-year-old’s mother, Erika Edmonds had knowledge of her son’s involvement during the shooting and provided false information to investigators despite her knowledge of his involvement.

Edmonds was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Richardson and Cornelius were arrested for attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

Davis was arrested for accessory after the fact of a felony.

Law enforcement said Cornelius, and Davis were arrested on Wednesday, May 14, when RCSD’s Fugitive Task Force with the assistance of the Special Response Team located them staying together at an Airbnb.

Richardson was found on Thursday, May 15, hiding out at a family member’s home.

Investigators say during the searches, five guns were found.

All three men were taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Gabriel Davis is still detained on a $75,000 surety bond, Ja’barree Cornelius is still detained on a $150,000 surety bond, and Kyron Richardson is still detained while waiting on a bond hearing.
