Memorial Day gas prices expected to be cheaper this year

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– There’s good news for the projected 39.4 Americans expected to hit the road this Memorial Day.

Filling up for the trip is gonna be cheap.

According to Gasbuddy, in the Midlands, the average price for gas will be $2.77 a gallon.

The national average is expected to be $3.08 a gallon.

That’s the lowest price this time of year since 2021.

If you consider inflation, it’s the cheapest gas has been since 2003, if you exclude the COVID-19 pandemic.
