McDonald’s shuts down “Cosmc’s”

(CNN)– McDonald’s is closing down its beverage-focused spinoff, Cosmc’s.

McDonald’s announced Friday, May 23, all five locations will be closing at the end of June.

It’s app will also be discontinued.

The restaurant chain opened Cosmc’s in 2023 in response to fast-growing specialty coffee and beverage chains.

Named after a little known alien McDonald’s character, Cosmc’s menu consisted of sweet drinks and light snacks.

The closures come as McDonald’s recently reported its second consecutive quarter of sales declines as customers pulled back their spending.
