1 dead in shooting at Redpoint Columbia Apartments Saturday

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Richland County deputies say one person was killed in a shooting at a student apartment complex on Saturday.

Authorities said at approximately 6 a.m., they responded to a shots fired call at the Redpoint Columbia Apartment Complex on Southern Drive.

When they arrived, they found an adult victim inside the residence with multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies say they contacted EMS and initiated emergency medical attention.

Once EMS arrived and attempted to treat the victim, it was determined that the coroner was needed as the victim died from their injuries.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s identity at this time.

This incident remains under investigation.
