SCHP investigates deadly Anderson Co. crash

Anderson Co., S.C. (WOLO)— The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate a an accident that claimed one life Monday afternoon. According to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway, the driver of a Dodge Pick-up truck was traveling West along West Road, near Cherokee Road just 2 miles south of Belton.

According to Trooper Ridgeway, the driver drove off of the right side of the road, overcorrected driving back onto the road before driving off of the left side of the road where he slamming into a tree. SCHP officials say the driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Authorities say the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
