Deputies arrest suspect in fraudulent purchases
Deputies say Reeves created multiple Facebook accounts using fake names to offer to buy UTVs and other vehicles in order to get the victims' bank information.
Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Richland Co. deputies say Javon Reeves is accused of obtaining goods under false pretenses.
Deputies say Reeves created multiple Facebook accounts using fake names to offer to buy UTVs and other vehicles in order to get the victims’ bank information.
Investigators say Reeves would then take possession of the vehicles, however the alleged payments he sent would bounce back with the victims never receiving payment.
Deputies say Reeves would then sell the vehicles to people who did not know they were stolen.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have purchased a vehicle from Reeves to call the Richland Co. Sheriff’s Department at (803)576-3000.
