CPD: 1 person taken to hospital, driver cited after Wednesday morning collision

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police Department Traffic Safety officers say a 29-year-old driver has been cited for reckless driving, disregarding a traffic control device, and driving without insurance.
The female passenger who was also in the car remains in critical condition at a hospital.
Officers say the Main Street, and Columbia College Drive collision temporarily shut down the intersection because the driver’s car crashed into a traffic control power box.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police Department Traffic Safety officers say one person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after a collision on Wednesday morning.
Officers say the collision caused a shut down on Main Street, and Columbia College Drive on Wednesday, June 4.
After the collision, crews were in the area working to fix the damage done to traffic lights, while officers, and cadets were directing traffic.
Drivers are asked to avoid distractions if traveling in the area.
