Scammers claim to be from SCDMV

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Several Midlands law enforcement agencies have issued a new scam warning.

The agencies say scammers are targeting people by claiming to be from the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles.

Authorities say text messages include links that end in dot.gov can look legitimate but are designed to steal your personal information.

If you get one of these texts, do not click it.

Instead delete it and block the sender.
