CPD investigating two overnight shootings
Lincoln Street Shooting:
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Columbia Police say they are investigating two shootings that happened overnight.
Officers say one occurred on Lincoln Street and the other happened on Garners Ferry Road.
According to investigators, a male was fatally shot, and three others were injured during the Lincoln Street incident.
The three people were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Additionally, investigators say the Lincoln Street house operates as an Airbnb.
Garners Ferry Road Shooting:
In a separate incident, a male was fatally shot in the 7500 block of Garners Ferry Road.
Officers say shortly after midnight they responded to a fight in the bar and grill’s parking lot between two men.
A 53-year-old man was arrested in connection with the overnight fatal shooting.
Bernard Jackson, Jr., is accused of fatally shooting a 33-year-old man who worked at ‘S. Bar and Grill’ located at 7535 Garners Ferry Road.
The 33-year-old victim was identified as Wendell F. Sholar by the Richland County Coroner’s Office.
Jackson was charged with manslaughter and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
He was arrested at the scene and taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
