Car prices held steady in May

(CNN)– If you’re in the market for a new car here’s some good news, car prices are holding steady despite tariffs on imported cars and car parts.

New data from Edmunds.com shows the average price paid for new cars fell .2% in May compared to April.

The slight dip came despite higher sticker prices from automakers which rose .2% last month.

Most of the cars sold in May arrived at U.S. dealerships before the tariffs on cars and car parts took effect.
