1 person arrested in connection with string of overnight auto break-ins, say deputies

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– One person has been arrested in connection with a string of overnight auto break-ins, said RCSD.
According to Richland County deputies, just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, they responded to a call about auto break-ins in progress in the 300 block of Highland Point Drive.
A description of the suspect and his direction of travel was provided by the caller.
A K9 was used to track the suspect which led to the successful apprehension of him, said Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Slade Lovejoy was charged with breaking into motor vehicles and possession of beer or wine by minor.
Lovejoy was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and has yet to have a bond hearing.
Investigators said several vehicles in the Lake Carolina subdivision were discovered with shattered windows, indicating there were more victims of auto break-ins.
Any additional victims are urged to contact RCSD to file a report.
Also, residents with camera footage from the area during the time of the incidents are also encouraged to contact RCSD.
