Cayce Police: Officer charged with misconduct in office after engaging in sexual acts while on duty

CAYCE, S.C. (WOLO)– Cayce Police Department says an officer has been arrested and charged with misconduct in office.

The department says a complaint and an allegation was received about Officer Michael Timo engaging in conduct that was not consistent with the standards and expectations of their law enforcement officers.

Timo was hired in October of 2022, and formally let go from the department on Friday, June 6.

According to an arrest warrant, Timo is accused of engaging in improper personal relationship with a woman in the vicinity of his Cayce Police Department vehicle while on duty and in uniform in the parking lot of the Cayce Tennis Court Complex on March 29.

Cayce Police Chief Bruce Wade requested the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) for an independent investigation.

He was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center.
