Nintendo Switch 2 sales set record

(CNN)– Nintendo says it’s sold a record number of Switch 2 consoles so far.

Nintendo announced Wednesday, June 11, that more than three-and-a-half million Switch 2 consoles had been sold since its release on Friday.

The Japanese video gaming company said that’s the “highest global sales level” for any Nintendo device within the first four days.

Nintendo would appear to be in good shape to hit a goal of selling 15-million devices by the end of next march.

The Switch 2 is Nintendo’s first major console launch since the original Switch arrived about eight years ago.
