Streaming viewership surpasses cable, broadcast television viewing
(CNN)– For the first time streaming service viewership has surpassed traditional television viewing.
That’s according to Nielsen’s monthly report of ‘The Gauge’ which tracks how people spend time watching TV.
Last month, streamers combined to grab 44.8% of all TV viewership.
Cable and broadcast TV drew a combined 44.2% of viewers in May.
Streaming usage is only expected to keep rising.
Over the last four years streaming viewership has spiked by 71%.
