Food Lion campaign fights childhood food insecurity during the summer

(WPDE) — Food Lion Feeds will begin its annual Summers Without Hunger campaign to ensure children have access to proper meals.

The sixth annual campaign addresses childhood food insecurity and increases access to nutritious food during the summer.

Through July 15, Food Lion customers can support the cause by purchasing a reusable shopping bag for two dollars.

Volunteers and Food Lion associates will serve at local feeding partner agencies through the campaign to help distribute the food to neighbors in need.
