Suspect arrested, accused of killing woman on her 42nd birthday

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–Columbia police say they have made an arrest after a woman was shot and killed on her 42nd birthday.
Investigators say just before seven in the evening on June 29th Cordera Hopkins shot and killed Monique Worthy at a home on Levity St.
Police say they are still trying to figure out why he did it.
Hopkins is charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police say Hopkins had previously been convicted of assault and battery with intent to kill
