Student loan servicer pauses payment tracking

(CNN)– Students logging into their student loan servicer accounts may not be able to view the progress of their loan forgiveness payments.

That’s because the Department of Education stalled payment counts.

One of the largest student loan servicers is telling borrowers it’s temporarily removing the ability to track loan forgiveness payment counts for income-driven plans.

Some experts say this could cause confusion for borrowers.

The temporary pause comes as litigation continues over former President Joe Biden’s student loan repayment plan.
